Goddess of the Barrow (New Moon in Leo) Original Collage Artwork
This original collage was made using watercolor, book engravings, and maps on watercolor paper that is mounted on an MDF panel. The sides and back of panel are painted a dark purplish brown and the collage is sealed with wax.
The panel measures 7” H x 5” W x 3/8” D, and has a pre-drilled hanging hole on the back. There is also a dowel wood kick stand to display it standing upright, which is removable for wall hanging.
I created this collage artwork as an homage to the unknown and unnamed goddesses of the barrows of Ireland. Many of these underground burial mounds are aligned with significant astrological events, and the mystery of their construction and creation is a frequent source of inspiration in my artwork.
