Intertwined Hearts Woodcarving

Hand carved from a beautiful piece of reclaimed Honduran Mahogany wood, I originally designed this this Celtic knotwork carving as an anniversary gift for my spouse. I carved this piece completely by hand using only traditional hand tools, and the finish is not sanded smooth but instead shows a subtle texture of the carving tools. – giving it a nice rippled finish.

The carving measures 11 3/4″ L x 6 1/2″ H x 7/8″ D and has a hanging hook on the back that allows it to hang flush against the wall. I have carved my signature on the back of the piece.

I created this woodcarving as part of my recent article published in Woodcarving Illustrated with instructions on how to make the carving. I will include a copy of the issue of the magazine that this carving is featured in.
