Elliot has his tuxedo on!
Carving is done on this Love Cat - shoutout to @terryrunyan for the inspiration for the moveable tail!
Carving the face, love his little gob!
Started a new fun carving today - meet Elliot, our handsome tuxedo cat!
Finished up the volvelle I posted about earlier - very pleased to have another cipher wheel to put to use creating texts in the Alchemy Notebook.
Lunar Volvelle: I created this moving paper wheel to track the cycle of the moon - as a page in my Alchemy Notebook. I am fascinated by volvelles - medieval calculators made of moveable paper elements. This one is painted with watercolor and gouache - made as a page in my Moleskine sketchbook with the pages tinted to make it look aged.
A treasure trove of symbols!
Here’s the firsts phase of building the volvelle inside the front cover of the Alchemy Notebook. The wheel is in place and turns well - now I will work on the cipher characters that go on the following page. This cipher wheel will be very useful for creating future pages in the notebook. More to come!
Piecing some new things together for the opening pages of the Alchemy Notebook - a new cipher wheel / volvelle. Symbols, ciphers, and magic!
